Kilpailusukat - Socks for the competition

Suomi täyttää tänä vuonna 100 vuotta. Hieno homma, eikä ole varmaan jäänyt keneltäkään huomaamatta.
Näihin kuvan "juhlasukkiin" liittyy hassu tarina. Äitini oli nimittäin kovaa kyytiä lähettämässä näitä mukaan Suomi 100 -villasukkakilpailuun. Hänellä oli ne valmiina ja saatetarina kirjoitettuna (tietysti käsin kirjepaperille). Kun oli aika pistää sukat postiin, hän totesikin että ei kilpailun aiheena ollut Suomi 100 ollenkaan. Aiheena oli Suomen Luonto!  No hitto, sukat jäivät sitten lähettämättä ja äitini kömmähdyksien tarinasalkku karttui taas yhdellä. Äitini on ajoittain sen verran hömelö, että salkulla onkin jo kokoa.
Perheeseen jäivät nyt sinivalkoiset sukat ja vielä on auki kenen jalkaan ne sopivat.

This year Finland is turning 100 years. This is just great and the celebration is all over, so you can`t really miss the fact either.
The socks in the photos have a funny story on the background. My mum was taking part in the woollen sock competition with title Finland 100 years. She had the socks + the handwritten cover letter ready. Its was time to send the socks forward and only then she realized that the competition was not about Finland`s birthday at all, but about Finnish nature! Damn it!
The socks were never sent and an other story was added for my mum`s bag of fooleries. There starts to be size for that bag by the way.
Now there is blue and white socks in the family just looking for right feet.
